About Florida Advocates Personal Injury Lawyers

Your Story Matters. Your Family Matters. Your Results Matter.
Florida Advocates Personal Injury Lawyers is a personal injury law firm based in Dania Beach, Florida, in the heart of Broward County. We represent accident victims throughout Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach County, and Hillsborough County who have been injured in car accidents, motorcycle crashes, truck collisions, slip and falls, premises liability incidents, defective product cases, dangerous drug cases, and wrongful death claims.
What makes us different from other South Florida personal injury firms is not our credentials — though they are strong. It is the perspective we bring to every case.
Our personal injury division is led by Susan Brown, an Lawyer who spent years working as a bodily injury insurance adjuster before becoming a lawyer. She has sat on the other side of a claim. She knows exactly how insurance companies evaluate, delay, and undervalue cases — because she used to do that work herself.
When you call us, you do not get passed to a paralegal or a junior associate handling 200 files at once. You speak with our team directly. Your story is heard from the first call. And we begin protecting your rights and building your case immediately.
We Know How the Insurance Company Thinks — Because We Used to Work for Them
Most personal injury law firms market themselves on credentials, awards, and verdicts. Those things matter. But there is something more important when an insurance company is evaluating your claim, looking for ways to reduce or deny it, and counting on you not knowing the playbook they are using against you.
You need an Lawyer who already knows that playbook.
Susan Brown spent years as a bodily injury and workers’ compensation insurance adjuster before law school. She:
- Evaluated claims — including motorcycle, car accident, slip and fall, and premises liability cases
- Reviewed medical records to identify pre-existing conditions insurers could use to reduce settlements
- Developed the valuation arguments insurance companies still use today to justify low offers
- Was selected as the designated adjuster for her company’s largest insured, managing complex claims under specialized handling procedures
She was then recruited by the state’s largest personal injury firm — and that is where she decided to pursue her law degree, so she could do the other side of the work herself.
When Susan takes your case, she is not guessing what the insurance company will argue. She already knows. “Pre-existing condition.” “Open and obvious.” “Wasn’t wearing a helmet.” “Fault unclear.” She has heard them all — because she used to make them. Now she defeats them.
That perspective is the foundation of how Florida Advocates approaches every personal injury case.
Results That Prove What We Do
We do not market based on case results alone. But our results illustrate the approach we bring to every case:
| Result | Case Type | What We Did |
| $2,500,000 | Motorcycle Accident | Client was cited at the scene. Police report blamed him. We gathered witness testimony, GPS records, and accident reconstruction expert analysis to prove the ambulance driver was at fault. |
| $190,000 | Car Accident | Insurer offered $55,000, citing pre-existing back condition. We documented exactly how the crash transformed a manageable condition into a disabling injury — recovering nearly 4x the initial offer. |
| $100,000 | Premises Liability | Finger amputation while assisting a FedEx employee. Liability was disputed because the client was not a FedEx employee. We proved vicarious liability. |
High six-figure settlement — Premises injury at a boat show. Out-of-state client. Other Lawyers unresponsive. Susan met the client in person within hours and secured a substantial recovery without litigation.
Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Every case is evaluated on its individual facts.
These are not exceptional outcomes reserved for a handful of cases. They represent how we approach every personal injury claim — with the precision, evidence-gathering, and strategy that insurance companies hope you never encounter.
Our Approach: Family Treatment, Insurance Insider Strategy
The personal injury market is full of high-volume firms — what we call “settlement mills.” They advertise on billboards, run constant TV commercials, and resolve cases as fast as possible to maintain volume. The injured client gets a quick payout that leaves money on the table, while the firm moves on to the next case.
That is not how Florida Advocates works.
Direct Lawyer Involvement
Susan Brown personally oversees your case. Not a paralegal. Not a case manager. Not a junior associate working through a stack of 200 files. The Lawyer evaluating your case is the same Lawyer who will handle it through resolution.
No Rushed Settlements
We build cases for maximum recovery, not quick turnover. Insurance companies offer fast lowball settlements specifically because they know injured people are under financial pressure. We help our clients see past the pressure and recover what their cases are actually worth.
Insurance Insider Knowledge
Susan’s adjuster background is not a marketing line. It is the framework we use to evaluate every case from day one. We know what arguments the insurer will raise, what evidence they will demand, what valuation methods they will use, and what counter-arguments will defeat them.
Federal Court Experience
Susan is admitted to all three U.S. District Courts in Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. We can litigate at any level — state court, federal court, and federal appellate court. This matters for complex cases that cross state lines, involve federal questions, or require litigation against well-resourced corporate defendants.
Family Treatment
Our brand is built on a simple principle: “Let our family help yours, because family never settles for less.” From the first phone call, you are treated as a person — not a file number. Your story is heard. Your concerns are taken seriously. Your family’s needs are factored into how we approach the case.

Throughout her legal career has represented both plaintiffs and insurance companies — which gives her a perspective most personal injury Lawyers simply do not have.
Why Clients Choose Florida Advocates
We Listen First
Every case begins with a story. Before we evaluate evidence, before we calculate damages, before we project a litigation strategy — we listen to what happened to you and what you and your family need. The plot of every personal injury case is different. Generic strategies miss what matters.
We Treat You Like Family
Our brand promise is “Let our family help yours, because family never settles for less.” It is not a marketing line — it is how the firm operates. Direct Lawyer access, returned phone calls, plain English explanations, and honest assessments of what your case is worth.
We Do Not Settle for Less
Insurance companies are practiced at making first offers that sound reasonable but leave significant money on the table. We know exactly how those offers are constructed because Susan used to construct them. Our work is to make sure your family recovers what your case is actually worth — not what the insurer hopes you will accept.
We Have the Resources to Match the Other Side
Personal injury cases — especially trucking cases, products liability cases, and pharmaceutical cases — require expert witnesses, accident reconstruction, economic experts, and document discovery. We advance all of these costs. Our resources match the resources insurance companies and corporate defendants bring to every defense.
We Are Florida Trial Lawyers
We do not refer cases out. We do not co-counsel cases with strangers. The Lawyer who evaluates your case is the Lawyer who will handle it through resolution — and, when necessary, through trial. Susan has argued and won cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. We can litigate at any level.

No Win, No Fee. No Upfront Costs. Free Consultation.
We work on a contingency fee basis. That means:
- Free consultation — no cost to speak with us about your case
- No upfront fees — we advance all case costs (filing fees, expert witnesses, accident reconstruction, medical records, economic experts)
- No Lawyer fees unless we recover for you
You will never receive a bill from us while your case is active. We only get paid when you do.
This pricing structure exists for a reason: most injured people cannot afford to pay an Lawyer out of pocket while medical bills are mounting and lost wages are accumulating. The contingency model means cost is never a barrier to representation. If you have been injured and need help, we can help — and you do not pay unless we recover.

Client-Focused. Family-Inspired. Results-Driven.
Every personal injury law firm in Florida will tell you they care about their clients. The question worth asking is: what does that actually look like in practice?
At Florida Advocates, it looks like this:
- The Lawyer you speak with on day one is the Lawyer you speak with on day 365
- Phone calls are returned the same day, not the same week
- Status updates are proactive, not reactive
- Settlement offers are evaluated against what the case is actually worth, not what is most convenient
- Decisions about your case are your decisions — we counsel, we advise, we recommend, but you decide
- We tell you the truth about what your case is worth, including when an insurer’s offer is a fair one
This is what “family” means in the context of legal representation. It does not mean we are emotional with you. It means we treat your case the way we would treat a member of our own family’s case — with attention, with care, and with the determination to get the result your situation actually warrants.
Let our family help yours, because family never settles for less.
